Your host is an experienced open water swimmer who swims most days in Devon’s amazing choice of beaches, rivers and lakes. So whether you want to swim at a South Devon beach or find out about some magical Dartmoor rivers, pools or lakes, we will help you with details and even volunteer to show you some great spots!
Located within 1 mile of Marine Breeze, this popular beach is wide and sandy. For those who like to swim a bit further, you can also swim around to Horse Cove and Shell Cove. Paddle boarders and kayakers can also head towards the Parson and the Clerk.
The closest beaches to Marine Breeze are the wide Dawlish town beach, which is accessed from the town itself, adjacent to the train station. Just along the way is the small Boat Cove.
The longest beach in Dawlish which stretches all the way from the town to the Langstone Rock. Also known as Red Rock Beach, this beach is popular because of its size giving everyone space even on a hot summer day.
Lovely flat and sandy beach. Gets very busy in the summer, so locals tend to stay away but out of season it is a great and often safe beach to visit. Also lovely walks in the nature reserve.
Within a few miles are a whole range of other beaches, including Holcombe (pictured), Teignmouth. Shaldon, Ness Cove, Maidencombe and a plethora of Torbay beaches. In the other direction there is Exmouth and other East Devon beaches.
Devon is blessed with some of the countries prettiest swimming spots, especially up on Dartmoor in the River Dart, Teign, Taw, Tavy, Okemont, etc - as well as some amazing lakes and pools. Some are well known and others are quite hidden!
